OAP is a festival dedicated to educational theatre that is an MSHSL sponsored activity. Learning about our craft and perfecting our performance is at a the heart of every level of competition.

This year we will be performing, "Oz" by Don Zolidas. This is a play about a journey that eventually every human being makes. It is a universal truth that none of us escapes. For with our capacity and willingness to love comes the same measure of grief and sadness in loss. My hope is that this story will speak to you, as it did to me, about the choices we make on that journey that will forever change our lives. And although our loss will always be a part of us, hopefully the life that touched us and the journey we take, will make us better human beings.

Why theatre? Theatre helps us explore what it means to be human. Theatre teaches us how to express ourselves and teaches us about ourselves. It gives voice to those whom otherwise would remain silent. It creates a unique setting which allows us to send a message. It helps us explore other cultures and events in history in an effort to see things from other perspectives. It opens our minds to other possibilities. Theatre is a singular way to communicate with society at large. It is, quite simply, a place to tell our stories.
